About Pippa
Born in Somerset she has been working in silver and gold since 1970. Attended the Byam Shaw School of Art and then served an apprenticeship in Hatton Garden, London.
Her work is usually figurative using many sources for inspiration - the Somerset landscape - medieval church work - the sea and beaches, shapes and textures in nature. The stones she uses are usually moonstone, lapis lazuli, garnet and amethyst.
Various techniques are used - forging, hammering, repousse, chasing, etching and casting.
Commissions are varied and many - presentation boxes - church work including ciboria, goblets and silver bowls. Many boxes depicting clients' houses or favourite landscapes celebrating silver or gold wedding anniversaries - table napkin rings and spoons for christening presents.
